About Me

Earth 169 was originally created by artist Alyssa Snavely in 2022. It began as doodles on scrap paper and napkins and evolved into a world of colorful characters adapted into digitally drawn stickers, prints, and custom commissions. Snavely works in various mediums, including acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink, digital, sculpture, and textile art. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Snavely received her BFA from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, specializing in courses pertaining to drawing, painting, and printmaking. Snavely's work is largely inspired by her physical and mental health journey, the Earth 169 world being a demonstration of how her health issues have changed her perception of our world. Her style developed from a variety of interests, and she has taken inspiration from caterpillars, insects, flowers, and her cat Pickles. Snavely’s work has been featured in the John T. Richardson Art Gallery, the publications Creating Knowledge and Crook and Folly, and can be found throughout neighborhoods in Chicago and Pittsburgh.
